Ongoing Documentary Project

In this series of images I have documented the township of Haarlem, in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. As a South African born photographer, living in The Netherlands this project is both a study of the interaction of man on his geographic location and a effort at understanding my connection to the two places I call home, and our connection to each other, as humans, regardless of the place we live in.

This ongoing photographic project tracing the places that share names across the fault lines of colonial history. It is a study in unrealised connection: what links communities that have never met, and what remains invisible because no one has thought to look.
